I've often said that there's a real feeling of satisfaction with the sound of rain on a new roof.

It's painted metal and we nailed it down my parents barn is completely warped and nailed and that was probably done at least 20yrs ago and my pole barn/shop is nailed and that's at least 30yrs old needs paint bad that's next summer too I bought this place little over a year ago and had to do both house and barn roofs plus other odd ball things but me and the wife love the house and where we live and plan on being here for a long time

Looks like a nice straight barn. Too bad if it was to rot away. Love that metal roofing, snow won't stay on it and it will last a lot longer than asphalt shingles. Seeing a lot of it up here in Maine.

Thank you for preserving it. Lots of old barns are going down around here through neglect. Once the roofing starts to go, it's only a matter of time before the interior structure is crumbling down. Realize many of the old barns are not terribly useful in today's modern agriculture where you need a large warehouse to even get your tractor in, but I sure hate to see the old ones falling down. They're a part of history!

Now 15 gals of red barn paint thinned with 5 gals of linseed oil and it will sparkle.

I bet it would take at least 50 gallons of paint.

Looks like a good solid straight old barn. You got the roof on just in time. They don't last long without a good roof and you'll have good dry storage for a long time at reasonable expense.

Nicely done! My old barn got standing metal seem in 1996 on the west side, 2001 on the east side. If I hadn't done that it would be gone by now.

One piece sheets, 25 to 30 ft long ? Really looks nice. We use a product called Galvalume here. Is that painted metal or something like strong panel? Screwed down or nailed ?
