I'm about to put my maroon and white football jersey on from 1985 and wear it into Cowboy's stadium to support of the mighty Mildred Eagles in our first ever trip to the state finals! Whooo hooo!!

I've never been inside of Jerry's world and I reckon it couldn't get any better than to see it tonight with our little 2a school playing for a state title!

For you Iowa folks, Nic Shimonek will be your next Hawkeye quarterback and will be playing for us tonight incase you can get the fox southwest channel on 416 at 8pm.

WARNING: Slight bragging ahead. I was the class of 1980 and in the fall of 1979 we had a perfect season and won state in football. I was a starting wide receiver and in the state championship game, I caught a pass and hurdled over a guy trying to tackle me. The local photographer for the area paper got an excellent picture of it and it made the front page of the sports section. When I saw the picture, I was elated.....until I saw the caption underneath that gave credit to another player on my team. Oh well, at least my picture made it, if not my name.

Will not be able to wear my 1968 state championship jersey to see Daingerfield beat Cameron Yoe today.

This is our ninth state championship game; nothing like Texas high school football!
 
Well, that was a butt stompin' if I've ever seen one. Congrats to the East Bernard Brahmas! ...and boy do they deserve it! Oh well.
