Swallowing Farmall A

I found this picture showing mother earth trying to eat my tractor. Luckily no one was hurt and no damage to the tractor. For those in the midwest, have fun with the expected first meaningful snow this year and be safe plowing. We are expecting 4-6 inches in the Omaha, NE area starting tomorrow. I will have to take off the belly mower and put on the plow.

Bet you had been wondering just where that drain line was for the septic tank! I found one like that one time when I was plowing a garden.

Man, does that look familiar. Back in the day we farmed some land that had been idle for many years. In our second season on one property about 5 miles from home I was plowing (we did that back then) with a 3 bottom on a WD and was crossing a small grassy area in the middle of the field when the tractor suddenly pitched down in front and stopped. Luckily the momentum kicked out the hand clutch but it about threw me over the front steering wheel. I'd hit a field tile washout about three feet deep. Had to wait there until Dad and brother came around (no cell phones and no one living nearby). They had the "big" tractor (Ford Commander 6000) to pull me out. Scared the heck out of me, thought for sure the front pedestal had broken clean off. But no damage at all, other than my pride.

Hello Greg,
I work at Creighton Psychiatry on 35 and dodge. Could
probably throw a cow pie and hit your home from work. I
live in Neola and commute to Omaha. If I remember right, I
think you might be the finish carpenter I have seen on this
forum. I have read this forum everyday for years and rarely
post. I have loved red tractors since I was a little kid. I grew
up in Kansas City and now live on 16 acres in Iowa. I really
enjoy the banter and knowledge on this forum. Have a
great Christmas and hunker down tonight. The interstate
was horrible heading east out of Omaha at 6pm tonight.
High wind heavy thunder snow and 3-4 inches on road. I
am looking forward to plowing snow tomorrow. The first
snow is fun, after that it can be a chore.
