this little guy came home with me yesterday, It's a one owner 1959 550 with 3600hrs showing on the original working hour meter. the only problems I've found so far is the hydraulic remote lever is froze and the generator does not charge and a couple oil leaks. I'm sure i will find more when start working on it. chuck

Yep, you got "2 out of 3"- remote hudraulic and swinging drawbar, but no power steering. Sweet.

Check the voltage regulator before getting too excited. Ground the Field terminal, and jump the Gen and Bat terminals together- if it still doesn't charge, its the generator. But if it now charges, its the voltage regulator.

The remote valve will stick from non-use, but pretty easy to take it off and get it freed up on your workbench. Spraying the rusty areas with PB Blaster and rubbing will get rid of a lot of the rust- and a VERY light use of emery cloth will help.

randy, yes i did hit the jackpot, paid $1600.00 for it, I could not believe the price. I can't make upy mind as to leave it wide or move the wheels in, I think it looks pretty good with wheels out, what do you think? chuck

Hey Chuck, finding that tractor for that $...I think you should have run out and bought some lottery tickets, this is your lucky day!!
Nice find!

Hard time seeing through my tears. $1600?

Anyway......mine's set way in and it doesn't steer quite right. When I turn short, one wheel turns a long ways, the other goes almost straight. If that one steers like it should set out there, leave it. The geometry seems to work vetter out there.

Good find Chucksoliver"550"

I went to an aution this fall for a 550 BUT it sold for $3400 without the drawbar and in about the same shape.

PS: Bet Kent from Texas is drooling! LOL

Well, shucks, sounds like you got the "deal of the day"! Just curious, are you sure those rear tires are wide enough for the job? lol. Maybe it's just the angle the photo was taken, but they look a little wider than stock.

the tires are 14.9-24, i think they may have been an option on that tractor, I'll know when i get the operators manual. thanks to all for your nice comments and merry Christmas, chuck
