WC blowing snow?

Can an Allis WC handle a snow blower and if so what size would you use? It does have a 3 point already.

Yes for lite snow the problem is ground speed is too fast. You will need to stop and then take another bite if snow is like over 6in deep. Once you get thru you can take a smaller bite.

What if you flipped the differential over like they do for cotton pickers/ rear mounted fork lifts. Would that help the gear ratio a bit (ie is 1st gear slower than reverse)?

Are you familiar at all with Allis Chalmers tractors? If you are, why are you picking a WC? Or are you talking about a WD? A WD would be OK. Why? It has a second hand operated wet clutch that not only allows the PTO to keep turning as the tractor is stopped but can be slipped without end to, in effect, give you a variable speed device. Blowing snow all the time. Cost of a good WD? $900-1500.

First is slower than reverse. Second and reverse are either the same, or reaL CLOSE. oN A wd, THEY ARE THE SAME. I reversed my WD loader tractor- very simple. On a WC, you need to grind some pumpkin casting away to get clearance for the gear when flipping it. I have a parts WC that was reversed. WD can be reversed by taking off the diff plate- on a WC, you need to unbolt the diff and work from the front side of the pumpkin.

OK. Without the hand clutch of a WD I don't see how it could work. And there's the same complicating factor of running a rotary mower in that without an over-running adaptor in the PTO shaft you would have flywheel action preventing you from safely controlling the tractor!
