What happened???

I noticed he was back last night. Didn't want to say anything and jinx it. Had plenty of thoughts on it. Maybe Miss Kim let him back, maybe he was somewhere else using a computer since I think it's his ISP that's blocked. Maybe his name is up for grabs now and somebody else was using it?

Of course it could be that he's back and just being darned careful to stay under the radar for a while.

Greg with the numbers behind his name was stalking me and could tell you every time I was even on here whether I posted or not. Maybe you need to turn him loose stalking D2.

It was really funny now that it's all over. I honestly thought he had been permitted back. Only a week or so in purgatory. Everyone was welcoming him back. He was the same old Dave2. Now he's gone again.

We thunked you was fast, but Ms. Kim jest showed us she was faster than you is. He wuz here and gone in a flash.....

I assumed that he had completed the appropriate penance and had somehow returned
to the good graces of our hosts on this sight, went back a few hours later and
SOG he's gone. Guess not, oh well. Some folks were upset when he was banned and
were asking about his rights. The bottom line is we are guests of the owners of
this site, we should follow their rules or not be to surprised when they ask us
to leave. Yes I will miss him, it was interesting to see how things were both
different and the same across the waters.

Dave put a typical Dave response to the post on "lack of Christmas lights" Thread earlier, I gave him a gentle admonishment back, but maybe it was too late or more likely not effective anyway.

Dave, for all his qualities, both good and bad, has chosen a style that makes him something of a lightning rod. Personally, I like people with that characteristic. At the very least, you know where you stand with them. Nothing phony, no concern for political correctness. Some (many) people don't react well to that approach.

Like a few others, I'll always wonder what it was that "crossed the line" after reading various other noteworthy line crossings in the past here on YT. It must have been a hum dinger!

Depending on one's outlook, it's either fortunate or unfortunate that we can't just say what's on our minds without others losing their minds.

At any rate, I miss Dave. Then again, it isn't my website.

Well said. In addition to that, nowadays many people are way too thin skinned. Got to admire someone who doesn't beat around the bush. He says it how it is (in his opinion) and makes no appologies.

He came and went. Don't know why.

After our guy at the cia got in trouble for using government computers and emails, thought they may restrict people at US bases using US computers for personal use. But Dave came and went in just few hours, so that's not keeping him off.

Yes I agree as a society we have become a little to thin skinned, or at least
some of us. I remember years ago being told to "consider the source" when
attacked, that was wise but has also caused me some troubles in later life.
Yes there are people that might think I'm a jerk, and if I happen to think
they are jerks I might tend to not give their thoughts and concerns much
credibility. I am getting a little tired of this whole tolerance thing being
a one way street, I have to be tolerant of a lot of things I don't feel are
right but there seems to be a lot of people that for whatever reason don't
seem to have to be very tolerant about my opinions or beliefs and want to shut
me up, that's wrong. Or to put it in a tractor related manner If someone
wants an Allis Chalmers tractor who in the heck am I to tell them they're
wrong and they should really have a Farmall? If I tell them why a Farmall is a
better tractor and what I feel about A/C tractors it might offend them, but
they should consider the source, obviously I'm someone who isn't all that
impressed with A/C tractors and as long as I'm not trying to make A/C
ownership or possession a crime I don't feel they really have a grip.

Dave,s an ok guy and thanks to some nut job lib crying we lost one of this sights tell it as you see it guys. i wish that thay would just ban the cry babys. Bob

I'll 2nd that about society being too thin skinned and taught to
be a victim . being too thin skinned unless it's the politically
correct promoting perversion , anti hunting or firearm banning.
Then we are supposed to be tolerant and supportive. About
makes me ill.
2nd also how refreshing dave2's honesty was.
Suspect there is some sort of autism spectrum or similar
influence in his train of thought. I can relate after several
decades of miscommunication and reading up on the topic.
That 90% of the population that make their evaluations and
decisions based on emotion rather than logic are a strange
bunch of freaks.

Yeah, for some reason the guys that aren't afraid to speak their mind and who don't tow the line aren't too welcome on this site.

I think Dave2's primary problem is that he couldn't separate his disagreement with a post from becoming a personal rant against the poster.

I'm a case in point- as most regulars on here know, I'm pretty good at spelling and grammar- I'd better be, because that's what I do for a living. But I realize that many here are smarter than me on technical things, and that good information doesn't tend to come out if the poster is belittled by those here assembled. So the only time I ever corrected anybody's spelling was when it would affect their ability to find information- that is, if someone is looking for information on his "Alice Chamblers" tractor, the first step is to spell it right, and I would, on ocassion, suggest the proper spelling so a Google search would yield some information. Dave2 would have none of that, and would immediately accuse me of "getting my nnalert in a wad" about spelling, while I was actually just trying to help. I don't have nnalert, Dave, and I resent being belittled by one who doesn't even "get it".

His stance was always that it was his way or the highway, and I guess I'm really not so sad that he is gone. He had little to contribute outside his innumerable questions about mundane things, and it got a little tiresome.

Well B&D,

I don't think you will ever be accused of being tolerant or supportive.

Autism??? Jeez, I didn't think you were a doctor along with being an engineer, petroleum analyst, gunsmith, astronaut and just all-around know it all.

I have never met Dave personally but I like a guy who will say what he means and not habitually snipe at others posts.

If us laymen are to make a medical diagnosis I would go for Snarkolepsy for you.

Respectfully,

Brad Buchanan

Mike,
I think Dave might have a full time job teaching people skills at a community college.
George

I've twined horns with both of them so...
Dave adds a bit of color to the board.
B&D adds an excellence of knowledge and usually a helpful hand answering the diverse questions people ask here.
I'll take an informed opinion on whether the grain auger should use 110 or 220V which is the type of info people come here looking for.
The colorful stuff I can find on Yahoo.
Then again, it seems B&D is Dave's greatest fan.
So who's to know?

rrlund, I was NOT "stalking" you.

You had made a statement that contradicted your previous posts. I simply went to 'Modern View" and entered your name and selected a search of all of your posts (you know, all of your 'posts' are archived?). Afterwards, I cut and paste what quotes that I thought were relevant to said discussion.

That's it! :D

No 'stalking'. Just using the tools provided and the information just pops right up. Just a couple of minutes is all it took.

Peace....out! :D

Political correctness & "tolerance"????? I say, those who preach that junk are the least tolerant of all. They are tolerant of only their views. They use it to try to control everyone else. If not then where, where I ask is their tolerance for my intolerance???!!!!

I"ve probably took as many shots from Dave2 as anybody.
The crazy sob was entertaining and usually more right than wrong.
A bit of polish and be would be fine.

A wide and diverse formal and informal education plus over 1200 course credits at work. Need a broad range of education to work on the many intertwined systems involved with nuclear power.
Fully qualified in three different trades too.

I have noticed there is a lot of touchy-feelie people out there. Not like the good old days when you could say what you mean and mean what you said. Too much 'Political Correctness' now.

I called him like i saw him .. A class clown . Sure he might be funny once or twice but used other people to get his kicks.. i can remember the post where he advised the guy to go screw a sheep. It's great advise like this that gets you banned from a pretty tolerant site. It's Chris and Kims call not ours.

If you remember the post about the sheep, How come you didn't remember to whom it was meant?

( you're talking to him now in your reply).. He took it as intended as a joke.

as for the picture ? it was posted a long time ago on this site. by a very respectable gentleman.and it wasn't poofed then.

He actually got busted for using other handles than his registered name, then saying something As a joke (that was taken that way by the the one it was posted to.) Dave never posted any more offensive to some as you just did.

I, for one, have no idea why he got bounced. Lordy, if they bounced folks for everything we've said on here, none of us would be here. Guess I'd better watch out; Lyle is too much of a fun target, and TV ain't bad either. JD and Ol Pooper can take it, too. I enjoy picking on Sweetfeets and the Howls. Everyone is fair game. Guess it's too bad some of us have such thin skin- this whole world would be so much better a place with some laughter now and then...Hope he's unchained as a Christmas present--

i just looked at the posts that i thot mite be interesting & skipped the parts i wasn't interested in. seemed easy enuf to do.

Is that supposed to make you better than the rest of us? Lets not forget you posted that you almost lost an eye with all your "education" and working for a union. A lot of farmers don't have a lot of formal education but know a heck of a lot more about it than the supposedly educated people.
