Every time I cut a new batch of mesquite wood. The Locus boers swarm in by the hundreds. I can't bring the wood in ahead of time because the wood is full of them. Have to keep a fly swatter by the fireplace in case they come out of the wood before the fire gets them. Any suggestions?

They like that fresh cut. After a few days of laying out theyve laid there eggs. My mesquite pile has sawdust from borers and it was cut in September. Sometimes when go by you can hear them chewing.

Mix 1 Oz. of Ivory Dish Soap in 1 Gallon of cheap White Vinegar and spray on your wood pile. Bye-Bye Borers, they HATE the smell and the taste. Sounds crazy but it works.
