Why I Mow My Own Yard

Lee Trevino: a true story, you gotta love him.

One day, shortly after joining the PGA tour in 1965, Lee Trevino, a
professional golfer and married man, was at his home in Dallas, Texas
mowing
his front lawn, as he always did. A lady driving by in a big, shiny
Cadillac stopped in front of his house, lowered the window and asked,
"Excuse me, do you speak English?"

Lee responded, "Yes Ma'am, I do."

The lady then asked, "What do you charge to do yard work?"

Lee said, "Well, the lady in this house lets me sleep with her."

The lady hurriedly put the car into gear and sped off.

Good joke.

When my wife and I bought our first home in a small town (3000) people it needed a massive amount of work. There were no good contractors in the town and getting smaller projects done was nearly impossible. We were doing most of the work our selves and I don't know how many times a person would stop and ask if I wanted to take on a different project and come work on their home.

Sounds like something he would do.

I remember he "broke the ice" in a play off round by pulling a plastic snake out of his bag.

Once everyone figured out it was fake and quit laughing, they started the play off. Don't remember if he won or not.

I was working in town with my skid loader at my friends mothers house. She was like a mother to me too. Another very nice older lady across the street wanted a hump shaved off in her yard and pushed in a hole. Looked simple and took about 20 minutes. She asks about payment and I told her just give me an amount that she would be happy with. She asked me what I charge other people. I told her that we are too far past that point. I just tell everyone else NO. I am not for hire. She tried to give me $100. I took $20 and threw the rest down on the lawn in front of her and took off.

He also said that if he was ever out on a golf course and saw lighting he would hold a one iron up over his head - because even God can't hit a one iron.

This is a very funny story but very not true and has been told hundreds of times about various celebrities. Why don't you people ever look things up and verify the truth before passing it on? This is how all the crap gets spread on the intrawebz.
