Is a loader with a trip bucket worth anything?

This is a SUPER SIX loader, Model 119. I will advertise it locally, but is it worth anything over scrap price? The bucket looks pretty good and other than being rusty the loader appears to be in good shape also.

If it has cylinders, hoses etc that are in workable shape it should be worth more than scrap but if it is just the frame and the bucket it might not be worth much more in my opinion.

Trip loaders work. They can also be converted to hydraulic bucket. What does it fit? (very important)

It may be missing the pins that hold the arms to the frame but the rest is there. I belive it may have a broken pipe fitting. I just hauled it home yesterday and it is still in the single digit temps this morning. I will unload it when it warms up.

Had a nice trip loader off of a h farmall for sale for 6 months with no takers. Winter is coming and it was in my way. Hauled it in for scrap along with a nice snow bucket. I was only asking $100.00!!!!

Comical, and I have sort of been looking for one, for an H, for over a year. Seen a couple of old pipe type loaders, one fool wanted $1250 for it, seen another one that the cylinders was trashed, and he wanted $750 for it.

There are a lot of factors that figure in to what it is worth. What does it fit, what is the income level in your area, etc. They are not as handy as one with a hydraulic dump, but sure beat the daylights over a shovel. If it's main use is to simply lift and move heavy items, the hydraulic dump only makes a little difference. One of the things to take into consideration is the condition of the hydraulic cylinders. Many of them were an odd size that is no longer available, and if they are rusted internally or the ram is rusty, you have so much scrap.

I sold a John Deere 45 trip bucket loader in good condition with new hydraulic hoses on it for $150.00. I was glad to get that I guess. Other people on here have good advice also.
Just my thoughts. Good luck to you.

I have a soft place in my heart for old stuff. One thing Dad had for his Farmall M was a Jayhawk loader, which was a trip bucket.

It worked just fine. My problem was for my first couple years using it my little arms sometimes couldn't pull the trip rope.

One of those things that's worth what somebody wants to pay. If you can find somebody who just wants one to put a straight blade on,to plow snow, they might be willing to pay quite a little bit. Especially if they've priced new steel, hydraulic cylinders and hoses.
Psychologically,if you price it too low, some city slicker is gonna think it's not even worth calling on or going to look at.

I sold a trip bucket for a Ford 8N for $450.00 about 2 years ago.

Note: this loader was COMPLETE an ALL regards, including brackets, front pump, valve, hoses and perfect bucket.

Most trip bucket loaders sell for around $250.00.

Someone on this site in the last few days was asking where he might get a loader for an older JD. Check out the advertising boards on this site, should give you an idea of what folks are asking and if they're actually selling them.

Do you ever get to around Moscow, Michigan? I have one in the hedgerow I"d give you. Came off an H, was supposed to be complete and functional when I got it. I had planned to adapt it onto the M I had at the time but ended up selling the tractor first.

I think it"s a New Idea. I did not get control valves with it. Sure hate to scrap old stuff that isn"t made any more but I also have no use for it now.

I paid $150 for a Stanhoist with good cylinders, with a separate control valve. Pins are worn so it's a bit loosey goosey. Still the best money I have spent in a long time. I converted it to hydraulic on the bucket later on.

I have a trip loader on an Oliver 88 Row Crop. Would love to sell the trip loader!!!!!
$200.00 OBO
I just don't have any use for it-- it needs a good home!!

Ont thing I'll say about a trip loader is they dump fast.
I had a trip loader that I put on my Ford for a couple of winters with a big snow bucket on it.
If the snow was wet or heavy it would still dump out when you tripped the bucket.
My friend with a hyd dump would get his filled up and it wouldn't empty all the way.
Had to bang it on the ground to clear it.

Here is a picture of my Super Six loader. I paid $75.00 for it. I painted it and put new cups in the cylinders. If the owner wanted $150.00 for it I still would have bought it. It depends how bad someone may want or need one.
