Anybody else got there c. tree up yet? I think it's to early, but wife said why don't we get the tree out tonight! May as well get it over with I guess, ,,, heck they had Christmas songs on the radio for 2 weeks now.lol, wife said they had Christmas stuff in stores before Halloween! First it was keeping the cat away from the tree, after a few $30 dollar glass decorations hit the hardwood and broke, it's gonna be even more fun keeping the toddler away from it! Least none of the tractor ornaments got broke!

We wait until a couple weeks before Christmas, because all the needles fall off if we do it too early. My former boss with Farm Credit, now my law office client, is a Christmas tree farmer- we either pay for the tree, or he gives it too us, depending on if I did him some good legal work during the year.

Also reckomend small table with shorter tree if little ones are around. Also reckome and keeping breakable ortiments in the top 2/3.

We offten put the tree up in time for Dec 13, my birthday. We've mostly only done live trees that we plant afterwards, but recently use an artificil.

Yep, she puts the glass ornaments up top since the "her" cat broke some. When my cat was here she never bothered the tree! well see how kid does! We have her blocked from
That side of living room, were tree is, but she can go around and come in from kitchen side..

Lovely wife hauled it out yesterday. She can't wait to get it up and can't wait to get rid of it (tears it down Dec 26th with a vengence.) I just smile politely and carry the boxes up from the basement and back down 3-4 weeks later.

I just got in after dark from the field and noticed some people up the road had their Xmas lights up already and a small tree nailed to their door. First songs on the radio this morning already. Saw christmas stuff in WalMart way before Halloween. Think people are getting a little carried away these days.

Been well over a decade since we wasted any $$ on a tree. Ya when the kids where young we did but now days it is just me the wife and the 22 year old son so why even bother. Now if the grand kids where around that might change things

Two comments. First, went in our local grocery store 2 days before holloween. Owners son was putting out chistmas paper. Said to him, it's a little early. Copped an attitude with me. Said people are buying it up left and right. I give it right back to him. said there is still a few of us left that think we should at least put halloween to bed before you bring out the chinese christmas crap. We both left pizzed off that night.Second, Growing up we never put up a tree till christmas eve. Cut a cedar out of the swamp and put it up that night. Stayed up 2 weeks into jan. Haven't put a tree up now for more than ten years. Instead we put tractor in the front yard and light it up. No fuss, no mess and no fire hazzard in the house.

I normaly love this time of year with all the family around and deer season. But this year is going to suck since we are fixin to move right around Christmas. We"re not sure of a date yet because we have to close on the house we currently live in and close on the new house. But it will be a good move for us just a pita till its all done

Yep its the time of year for folks to put up a stupid tree, lie to their kids about Santa Claus and max out their credit cards great time for sure. And absolutely nothing to do with what Christmas is all about.

Grandkids do change things. I went and bought a fresh cut tree today as two of the grandkids were over and they get a kick out of decorating it. Told my 90 year old Mother I paid $44.00 for a real tree and she about fell over. I said you know what, I work hard all year. If I don't even have $44.00 by years end then I might as well quit. Everyone spends their money on something different for enjoyment. I choose to spend mine on an overpriced tree. My money, my business.

When you grow trees you have a pick of thousands. But... I dont want the pain of a live tree, we have a fake one. Works fine for us.

Rick

We haven't put up a big tree in years. Bought a nice 7 1/2 footer that sits in the basement, now. I bought a 2' or so high fiber optic one that sits on an end table- we just plug it in and it is already lit up. It'll go up in a few weeks. On the other hand, some of the neighbors were lit up around Halloween. Personally, I'll be glad when the holidays are over. Anymore, the remind me of the deer during rut. Bunch of fools running around to see what kind of a deal they can get and trying to screw everyone else.
