tilt steering 6300 jd

Chad, there is a hydraulic piston on the steering column to set it in place, with the latching lever to hold it. I had the one go up on my 6400 several years ago, and it was a pricey little cylinder for something that looked like the piston that holds pickup tailgate window. Mine still flops for the price JD wanted for one....

you can get that cly through a&i most deere dealer are also A&I dealers lot cheaper but look to be same cly.

First let me state I know nothing about this model JD tractor. From viewing the parts schematics without the aid of a tech manual I'll guess that the spring in parts key # 5 is the problem for column not latching in a set position. The gas cylinder is approx. $60 cheaper from A&I.
