Had one of our silage truck stolen about 2 weeks ago. 96 black mack triaxel. 22 foot alum. coal dump box made by ALFAB. Any info leading to return or arrest of responsible parties would be awesome. Was located in south central NY. Could be anywhere by now.

here is the best pic i have of it

That is a vary good possibility that it was parted and the rest scrapped . We had a New Holand skid steer taken out of the barn on the coldest night of the year a couple years ago and the thieves knew that the people on the road behind the farm were gone on vacation as the drove the skidsteer out across the field to the road and loaded it on the road and were gone . We had to rent one for over a week while we played the game with the insurance co. End up finding one on Craigs list so we bought that one still waiting on the insurance co. Three more weeks went by and nothing , then one day some guy was bragging about the great deal he got on a New Holland LX 665 that had two brand new tires on it as we had just put them on and were waiting for the other two to come in . He was brqagging about it at the local coffee shop. and a couple guys over heard him bragging and one of them went p to him and said GEE that one sounds like the one that was stolen 20 miles from here . This guy panicked and went and called the sheriff's office and Deputy Dawg went down and looked it over and called the roll back in and hauled it to the impound . They almost charged him with receiving stolen property . Then the sheriffs office called us to come down and see if it was ours and prove it . We did that and then the insurance co. said that no it was theres we told them ah no you have not PAID US for it and there for it is still ours , you have not paid for the rental machine we had to have for one week till we bought the other LX665 . They we mad that we took it back as they had already SOLD it to a salvage buyer . So now we have two LX 665's BUT WE got lucky getting it back. I have a friend that has had three dozers two skid steers and four back hoes stolem over the last 20 years and not one of them has turned up . My uncle when he was alive lost four tractors and never saw any of them again . Even thought they did catch the last thief red handed while tryen to steal another one . Since then we have taken steps to slow them down a little along with other things that will alert us when someone comes on the farm along with hidden camera's , sensors . Now there is no way that anything get on or off that farm with out getting it's picture taken night or day.

A lady friend owns an oil company and she had a Kenworth with tank that she had recently bought, stolen a few years ago. It was publicized a lot but it was about a year and a half I think that they found some parts, I think that it was in Wardners back yard.

That is our thoughts too. Been looking on classifieds and craigslist for parts we recognize. Would love to have it back but at the very least get the guys arrested and convicted who did this..

Dont bet on that camera thing, Pal of mine was doing dirtwork on the new Cath church west of Indianola Iowa. His tractor was stolen, sherrifs deputy showed him the guys driving away on his tractor. He said they could see who it was, he never got his tractor back.

(quoted from post at 16:05:00 11/16/12) Let me just set the record straight. "I am not a crook".

Sorry Wardner. I didn't mean to infer anything. What I meant was in Lowell as in back yard to Dracut.

Back in the 80s tractors and combines were disappearing around here like crazy. One of the biggest farmers around here was caught digging a hole to hide large JD combine with some big parts removed at 2:00am. That is how he was caught, he woke up a neighbor with the dozer.

back in the 70s wife's stepfather worked for a Canadian who had an excavation business and was operating in NH. He had a very big contract constructing a golf course, roads, utilities, and home sites around the golf course. He walked around with huge wads of cash. When the job was finished he disappeared and it was found that he owed lots to various vendors and the Gov't. A few employees were involved in helping to transport equipment to a field next to the Canadian border in Vermont. The equipment disappeared and it was said that he buried it in a gravel pit near the border.
