I have many times defended NAPA knowing that a lot of the problems people have had has been due to the store owner and not NAPA. Now NPAN has dropped their PRO line of tools and replaced it with the Carlyle brand name. Over priced cheap junk! Now I guess I'm going to have to start acting like a dog and chasing down the Snap On truck.

Grampy, yea my local NAPA is looking at finding another brand of tool to carry too. Worst part is that NAPA PRO line were made in the USA and the new ones, supposed to be of the same quality are made in Taiwan. Looking at them and the cheaper Evercraft NAPA line the cheap tools are of better quality than the Carlyle brand. Just called the Snap On guy this morning to find out where he is at on certain days.

They must have followed Car-Quest's example. They sold Blackhawk for many years. Walked in one day and they were pulling all the Blackhawk tools and putting up new displays of Car Quest label tools - yeah, all made in china & a just about the same price. I just don't buy tools there any more. I have to give the store owner some credit - he's starting to fight the trend a little, he had some nice shiney new Proto wrench sets on display last time I was in there. Ken
