ive just purchased a 145 vers its been sitting for 7 years i towed it home 8 miles the old girl fired right up but i have no steering ive let it run lots. went out in field but to no avail hasnt started to steer yet any ideas. thanks for loking at my post this is a great site

yes, the one of two front belt driven hyd pumps poweres the power steering, steering return goes through the oil cooler than pressure lubes the transmission with the cooler return oil.
The other pump powers the hydraulic scv valves.

Remove the round cover in the floor, check oil with the dipstick in the filler tube. Low / no hyd oil means no steering or hydraulic functions.

If you find out the problem, post the answer back on here!!

I"ve got a really nice old D145 (even has a 3 point) that is the same way. I just haven"t taken the time yet to see what is wrong with the steering...

I'm new to this site. The 145s use the trans as the oil res for the steering and trans pressure lub. The oil level check plug is to the right of the rear output shaft. the oil fill is at the back of the operator platform.
You maybe found this out by now.
