Just having the knives sharp saves a ton of HP vs. running with super dull knives. Really easy to sharpen on these choppers too. We've got it's big brother the 892, and this was our first season with it. We only have a 100 HP tractor on the front which is much smaller than it can handle, so it's a matter of ground speed to work the tractor. Is it 540 or 1000? I would think that if the knives are set up properly you should have no problems with even 80 on the front, or less with a smaller windrow. From what I have experienced so far with our 892, they're pretty easy running machines. The benefit of a smaller than capacity tractor, is it's very hard to plug it up.
