By golly I managed to make it to my 28th birthday. Didn't do much to celebrate the event, just another day of work though I did go out and have a couple cold ones with some co-workers. Seems like yesterday I was just out of high school. Suppose it's about time I start looking for a good girl to settle down with?

To keep it tractor related, I have next Monday and Tuesday off and plan to tinker with the old Oliver some more before the cold weather sets in.

Happy Birthday Rich,
Well your situation sounds a lot like me when I was your age. My wife and I started our romance on my 28th birthday. I pursued her that night! LOL We have been together now going on 16 years. Been great ever since. So don't worry about starting too late in life. You just have more life experiences under your belt this way. Best of luck to you.

I was 27 when i met my wife in a bar on a blind date,dated for 3 1/2 months,got married[didnt have to],going on 45yrs now.

dang...i got crumbs in my beard older n you ;)
get hooked up...you WILL remember how good you had it single.

Just heard the news about another person who managed 28 years then developed an itch. funny it was scratched after the big event, as if it just happened. If it was theatre it would be called choreography.!other places it could be strategic manipulation.

28, it's all down hill from there. If you weren't so far away I would introduce you to my daughter (26). She is mean. She played all kinds of sports in high school but really came into her own when she got to college and was introduced to Rugby.

I am catching up with you Nate! I had been at the bar since 3pm and could have stayed longer but hate doing things the next day with a hangover.

Strategic manipulation- that's a good way to put it. At this point the whole getting hitched thing is just an idea, and not an itch and hope it stays as just an idea.

I'm not too concerned about it. Things happen when they happen. Like someone else said, I can spend my money on tractors. Now if I could just find that money.....

28, congrats. I realized I was old at 27, thats when the hangovers started. Until then I was fearless, 1-2 beers max for me now.

Plus more money for my hobby.

Brings back memories. May of 1964. I was an army captain at Yuma Proving Ground and although Infantry branch was detailed to test activities administered by DARPA. (Defense Advanced Research Products Agency) We referred to the whole thing as "Disneyland East". You name it, we tested it. All the way from cluster bombs to german designed rocket assisted artillery to the Overland Train to Frank Rogallo parawing gliders to include a powered, piloted version to a six shot 105mm howitzer that looked like a big revolver on wheels to parachutes made of paper (yes, paper-they supported pallets of 4 55 gallon barrels and worked real good when they worked-about 25% of the time. Made a really big splash when they didn't as they were filled with water. All that plus at least one hundred other things equally as strange. Great fun. I enjoyed every minute of it. Went on from there to command an air cavalry troop which wasn't anywhere near as interesting. They changed my branch to armor without even asking. What an outrage!
