what would dave 2 do?

lady next door asked to put some stuff in our freezer, she put it in our big freezer before I could tell her to put it in the small ref freezer, but I thought she wouldnt open it again, next morning she and her husband have the freezer door wide open, deciding what they want to take out of the freezer for that day, like they were shopping in the A+P ! I wish dave 2 was there to set them straight.,

Just tell them you really prefer that they didn't leave the lid open and let out all the cold. Why are they in your house anyway?

I dint mind they put it in there ,but I thought they would come get it when the power came on,not open the door every day and stand there deciding what they want

Isit an upright or chest. A chest can have the lid open all day and not make any difference. The upright is is a different story. But it's not all that bad because the fuller the freezer is the longer it will take to thaw it out. Personally I doubt that any damage was done they couldn't have been there that long. Go to the A&P and look at their setup open chest and people opening the uprights all day.

Instead of asking Dave, Why not take your generator over and charge up their freezer for em? all dave is going to tell you is something about manure. lol LOU

it is an upright, they dint do any damage,I ran the generator for the freezer, its just that I didnt want to open the big upright freezer if Idint have to

Ihey called me at 4 am to start their generator, they didnt know how,I started it,they ran it continually till it ran out of gas,(1 DAY) Then they couldnt get gas for it,so gave up and went to a motel after 3 days,No,I dint give them gas,if they couldnt have more gas than for 1 day with all the warnings we had,Im not going to supply them with gas, sorry

(quoted from post at 19:29:04 11/09/12) No,I dint give them gas,if they couldnt have more gas than for 1 day with all the warnings we had,Im not going to supply them with gas, sorry

How heartless of you.........

As Struther Martin said in Cool Hand Luke" What we have here is a failure to communicate"
These people have no generator and don't have a clue what it means to live on generator power or to economize. You must Tell them what to do or not do because they are ignorant. That does not mean they are rude, spitefull or negligent, it just may mean that they do not know you should not do what they did. If they did it AFTER they were told well then that is an entirely different story.THEn they get the bums rush!

(quoted from post at 19:52:56 11/09/12) I put a sign on the freezer door,do not open, they did anyway

They'da had their sh!t and off my place all 3 ways (quick, fast, and in a hurry)...... You can't baby folks....

Not a Christian attitude.lol.Should have explained that "JUST USE THE GENERATOR TILL FREEZER IS BACK IN THE SAFE ZONE" then shut it off. Sparingly used for freezer and water pump.Give out award for stupid blunders under adverse conditions. We had a tornado touch down that took out power for us for TWENTY ONE DAYS!!!
We survived by using water pitcher pump and small gas camp stove. Kerosene Lanterns. Had fun doing it. Write it out in book form "How to survive in comfort when faced with severe adverse conditions" Think their to ignorant to read and follow instructions?Even with pop up pictures and diagrams. Can't forget a complimentary book of DAVE2, people skills book, Titled "How to impress idiots and lose neighbors".LOL LOU

Be intersting to see if any Amish/Mennonites in the area are having problems with heat, power, lights, water. Are they running short of Kerosene, hay, wood/coal?? Has the windmill pump been damaged? Or are they going to the local gathering place for a newspaper to read about east coast and cuckling at the English, getting the cleanup crews ready to travel to help other farmers? Wonder why the main stream media isn"t covering the Mennonites- none in area perhaps?- they have enough sense to get to high round when near coast? RN
