A friend of ours started a firewood business 2 years ago. He
works for a tree service, who are friends of his, they give him
all the wood he wants, said he sold 125 cords so far this
year. Well he had a couple cords of limb wood he didn't want
to deal with, stuff 5 inches and less. He told my brother for
him and me to come down and take it. It's oak, maple cherry,
ash, ect. Ya it's a pain cutting small stuff, but for free I was
happy to come get it, all seasoned and no need to split any of
it. It was a good day, so good we skiped work yesterday
,today, and tomorrow! Lol
 
In the past when I had a lot of limbs like that I made a rack to put a bunch of them in and cut through a pile of them at once with a large chainsaw. That saves time. I've seen racks for that commercially made.
 
Lol, I had one and traded this guy for a load of wood for it last November. Now he says it's to dangerous to use, so he's gonna give it to his neighbor! Lol
 
That is a good one, I'm not sure if I'm the only one but it all burns and I take the limbs down to the very end, less waste and mess to clean.

Not long ago we had access to a giant pile of tops from a logging job near my friends farm, unreal how much waste of firewood, we took many loads out of there, did not make a dent in it, still there too, up in the air, most of it, dried out, I hate waste like that. pile had to be over 100 feet long and 30 feet high.

I have an old CH&E Saw Rig, which is basically a 14 hp Kohler powered table saw, which I believe can rip 6" material, its a project to finish now with the motor on the workbench, but I used it as a kid, was ideal for this size wood, like everything else LOL hope to get it done someday and use it again, open blade like a buzz saw but I spent so many hours on this thing way back when, certainly was a lot less intelligent being younger but knew what that blade could do !
