The Wallace's Farmer

Did you guys used to get The Wallace's Farmer magazine? If yes, does anyone have an old issue with a colored front cover from the 60's or early 70's that you could post a photo of? I'd enjoy seeing a photo of it.

My dad always got it. Just thought of it and googled it. This link says that in MN they passed a law that margarine had to be tinted pink so people would not think it was butter (they thought it would stop people from buying it instead of butter).

I always liked the little comics within its pages and used to clip 'em all out and save them. I think they eventually went the way of my rock collections.

I remember when margarine, then called oleo wa swhite like lard and a yellow dye was blended in at home make it look like butter.

My dad milked cows and sold cream. We fed the skimmed milk to pigs, I remember at times he would milk early so that we could make ice cream.

I remember hearing about it. At that time there were many different publications for different parts of the country and it was not sold in our area. We had the Ohio Farmer for us and for the next idition west of us was the Parie Farmer That we did get for a time. Don't think I have any of those but I do have some old Ohio Farmer magazines from the time frame you are talking about. But I also do have quite a few Ohio Farmer from the late 1890's. These carried the address lable of by grandfathers brother.
