We are trying to find the year of manufacture of our ford 5000 tractor
256 engine.
The numbers we have are:

B220813

can anyone help us out with this?

Yes, a s/n starting with B indicates a Basildon-built tractor. ('A' would be Antwerp, and 'C' is a U.S. built model.)
4C7 is part of the unit (date) code. 4 is the last digit of the year built, C is the month, and 7 is the day. There should also be another letter... A, B, or C to denote which shift built it.
