George reading you post about gators. I am thinking about trying to buy or trade older pickup for geo suzuki or any running simuliar type vehicle with 4 wheel drive to use just for bouncing around the farm. all off road. What is your opinion would this be as good as what seems to be very expensive quad and easier to get into. Know anybody wanting to sell or trade for such an animal.

Hey Wilson how are you doing? My boss as a geo tracker that he is thinking of putting up for sale. I think the transmission is acting goofy. I don't remember how much he is asking though.
Have a good one

Bill,
I've been checking out gators and mules. Reason, where I live you are very likely to have your quad stolen by the meth heads, here in meth valley USA. You can carry more things on a gator, especially grand kids.

What disturbs me is the county boys, deputies, told me they are instructed not chase after a quad or motorcycle. So, if you want to commit a crime here, do it on 2 or 4 wheels. I just don't understand why they are instructed not to chase quads. Perhaps, it's because are jail is overcrowded with meth heads. Cops know the quads are most likely mobile meth labs, especially those running the roads at 2 am without lights.

There are some nice looking older used gators and mules on craigslist. You can use searchtempest.com to search all craigslists a certain distance form your place.

I have a better feeling about getting parts for gators and mules. Not crazy about diesels, but there are some diesel gators too.

When my dad was thinking about buying a new UTV he ended up buying a 1977 cj5 for 2200 bucks instead of spending 10k + for a new UTV he can drive it back and forth to the farm, and it fits on all the roads/trails in the woods... My uncle has a new new holland rustler and the cj5 is the same size or just a shade smaller....

I picked up my golf cart real cheap. Couldnt justify the price of a gator being a part time farmer, even a used one.

When it comes time for replacement, if I cant find another golf cart, I will be looking at a geo tracker, jeep or something similar.

my 2 cents : i have been looking for the past year or so and getting one also, after looking at most brands i think i am going for the mule because of cost vs there overall value and how dependable they seem to be, parts are easy to get also, cubs don't look bad either.

Mr. Wilson,
Found this on craigslist, thought of you.

John Deere Gator Power Wheels - $75

Is this what you are looking for?
