still no power

Had to bring my daughter to the library here in nj, so I thought I would say hello! We are still out of power since last monday night, hope to be back in shape soon, Im doing pretty good, but I dont think my wife has a pioneer spirit ,

Hang in there things will get better. Guess you need to build a bike for your wife so she can ride and have power to watch TV LOL. Hope it is not very cold up your way or hope you have wood heat. I know back in 2007 it was not fun going with out power with that ice storm we had. Hope your canning is helping you get by also

My outlaws live on long island, they were pretty lucky only had 8 inches of water in basement so new carpet and drywall about 10 inches up from floor. No electric yet but have hot water. Sat in line 8 hours for 10 gallons of gas but didnt get it found out first gas goes to first responders. Considering other places they feel lucky.

We had a tornado to touch down this past June about 2 miles from us in ne MD. It hit most of the businesses in that area and their power was off. I don't know how many homes were affected. We decide then to have a standby generator installed. It was bought in July and
was on line in Aug. Sure was nice when the lights went out to hear that generator start and the lights were back on. The generator is a Kohler 14kw that will run on LP or NG. Since you're in business you would probably know a good plumber and electrician. Hal
PS: Here's the transfer switch that came with the generator.

Old is right, that ice storm was a nightmare. It laid down our 69kv transmission lines, and we were really out of power. 11 days worth. Ice, ruined trees, ruined power lines, black nights, no water, no heat, food, of a sort.... 12 hour days trying to get everybody else back in power in town.

Sounds like your some place here in Missouri also. Yep the ice storm of 2007 was bad but so was the tornadoes of 2003 both of which did a lot of damage on my place

Larry at the Library with no power,

Hang it there guys. Hopefully better soon.

It does get old after awhile. I cannot imagine a week+... longest we have ever been without power was 4 and a half days in an ice storm.

Larry, everyone is pulling for you and any other YT folks in that area. In 2001 we bought a new double wide and next winter (early 2002), we had a bad ice storm. We were without power for almost three days. We lit candles, I think at one time I counted about 50 candles burning on the dining table and kitchen counter. It is amazing how much heat they put out. The inside temp. did not drop below 50 degrees at night. (And no, we did not leave them burning all night.)
