Oil leak on John Deere R

I have a "53 John Deere R that when I run am getting oil showing up from under or around the pony motor. I believe it shows up when diesel is running & not the pony. Cant really see where its comming from other than the edge of the base of the pony. Any clues as how to seal it up other than lifting pony ? Thought about going all around pony base w/a sealant such as RTV silicone. Am open to any other suggestions or would like to hear if anyone else has had this problem.

Philly I can't help ya with a fix but I have the same leak on my 54 R. I'm kinda anxious to hear an answer. Might get more suggestions on the Deere forum. Jim

Thanks for the reply. Must be a common problem cuz have seen it quite oily ther on other Rs also.
