if still able bodied, i would be one of the first helpin folks out.
as terrible as this storm is, i hope for all our sakes,
there is a silver lining in the cloud--
it hit near the folks in corporate,
maybe they'll understand life
and its ups and downs.
maybe corporate empathy will change.
hopeful, but doubtful.
think about it, the majority of transactions
run thru the area just hit.
maybe it knocked 'em out of the ivory towers
long enough to think about 'fly over' country
and the folks that live in this country.
i'm too cynical, ready for the hate responses,
yet i'm just hopeful they'll learn,
just sayin

BTW--forgot to say hi to everyone again.
been awhile since I posted.
Surgeries, divorce, finances, etc as we all go thru
have kept me away awhile.
Depression from it all,
but I'm pullin out of it.
just wish my body would work right again,
and i could shake some of this pain.

They say the sins of the father are placed on the child,
still tryin to figure out what my dad did that was all this bad,
lol.
i'm vertical, can't complain.
i'll try not to overpost--hurts to keyboard so ya'll are probably safe

The miracle would be that a sense of ethics, duty to others and especially the common sense shared here could be pounded into financiers. Vulnerability is a good thing for some to experience. I hope you are even 10% correct. Let alone 47% Jim

and if folks like you can figure out my babblin on and what i mean to say,
then maybe we've hope in this country yet. i know what i want to say,
but can't get it out right.

Wish there was hope for this country but with what we have in office and what we have to vote for in the near future looks like we have the bad we have or the we hope maybe a tad bit better and that is it. No more it this a country for the people by the people it is for the rich and by the rich and those who are willing to take a pay off.

we all know money talks, and
when they have too much money
they get power hungry.
Ain't what this country is supposed to be about.

when i vote, i tell folks i just took part in organized crime.

Getting back to Sandy. Living on the gulf coast of Texas, I know exactly what those people are going through. But this is when America shines and pulls together and as a nation, state, city and community we will recover better than ever!
My heart felt prayers are for every person affected by this storm.

Yes, it would be nice, but I fear greed is so pervasive not even the hurt inflicted by a major catastrophe would be enough to effect a long term change.

Your thoughts, heart, are in the right place. Just not enough other people to make it happen.

You are so right. I haven't voted "for" someone in years. For a long time its been voting against one candidate or the lesser of two evils.

talking about voting i received a letter from Americans for limited government it is a vote history audit It shows who of my neighbors voted in the '04 & '08 ELECTIONS 7 OF US LISTED MY WIFE AND i ARE BOTH ON IT we diidnt vote in the last two elections I think it is a crime that this can be sent to people (your neighbors) with this information What next who i vote for?talk about losing your liberty OH I cast absentee this year before i got this letter)Does my vote really count with electorial college actually voting?

Yep any more if the person who get in office is not a crook by the time he gets out he will be a crook or he does not stay. The old check and balance system does not work any more since those who are to check are as currope (sp) as those that should balance

Yep lesser of 2 evils and then hope some how something will happen to have them do the right thing but like that is going to happen unless lighting starts taking them out

Thank you all for the welcome back.
i've been so depressed over bein a prisoner in my own body,
losin my wife over it, etc i just been in hermit mode.

i took a risk posting, but am glad to hear all the opinions.

as in my original post, i would be there helping, first,
if still able bodied.
now i just sit around and get too cynical.

anyone near my area, never hesitate to call if you have trouble.
i'll see if i can help.

i can learn so much from this web site.

I hope to bump this back to the top and maybe get some more insight
even if I am totally wrong. We never stop learning.

Just wanted to say thanks for the welcome back,
specifically to you.
I can have off the wall thoughts,
so if I am too far off topic,
please don't hesitate to delete my post.

I have a very poor sense of self now that my body has failed me.
Bout all I can do is sit around and think,
drive's a man crazy.
I only try to bring up thoughts, ideas, and throw them out there.
I am shy and bashful, and considerably physically damaged,
my thoughts aren't always right.
I've missed this website, but haven't been brave enough to post until lately.
Just like a dog that's been beat too much,
