I cranked on 49 M Till it quit turning over. Now it sounds like starter will not engage motor.I checked battery it is fully charged what is my problem?

Starting at the battery, working your way to the starter, check all cables and make sure terminals are clean and tight. Loose or dirty connections can play heck with an electrical system. If everything checks out, and the starter spins but does not spin engine, you likely have a bad Bendix on the starter. Pull the starter and take it to a reputable shop to have a looksee.

If that's like the older Oliver starters, there's a big coil spring in there as a part of the Bendix, that tends to break. If it spins but the gear won't engage the flywheel, that's probably it. You can get a new bendix for it most anywhere, probably on this site too.

If you held the knob till she quit the bendix kicked out or the starter is fried. There never has been a starter you can do that to.

that is a complete no,no. you never crank the starter till it wont turn anymore. that causes heat in the starter and damage. once you hear the starter slow down stop cranking and charge batt. it could be bendix stuck as mentioned also.
but is this a trick question or what, cause your post makes no sense. if you crank engine till it quites turning how can batt. be fully charged? how did you check batt? i give up, what is the correct answer?
