Block for Super 88

I need a block for my super 88. We have tore it down, ordered our parts to re-build it, and guess what?? Today we were cleaning the block on the inside, and between two of the pistons is a very small crack. There was no anti freeze in the oil, but that crack is still there. Any suggestions?? Where will I be able to find a block?? Thanks in advance I guess as they say: Restoration is Frustration

Try Korves Oliver. I think they claim to have 150 Oliver blocks and heads if memory serves me right.

if the block just has a small crack between the sleeves on top it will not hurt a think. most of them crack there. just as long as the sleeve is not cracked. post a pic of the crack. the head gaskt. seals that anyhow.

Mine is cracked on bottom where the o rings go. Called Korves already, mark is not sure if they have one. Thanks.

What does repaired mean??? Where can I get it done?? How expensive??? Sorry for all the questions, but I appreciate your concern. Thanks

I've seen block repairs before, and it sounds like your crack isn't that severe (in fact, it may be somewhat typical, but I'm not an Oliver guy). I think they do pinning or magna-flux or something. Probably not cheap, but it depends on how easy it is to get a replacement block, as well.

you will need to check around and find a machine shop that specializes in block repair. it can be welded and then remachined to the proper spec's. usually this type of work is not cheap. it is not the sort of work that a beginner would tackle, need to find a reputable shop. it is fixable.
