These are pictures of Deer Creek in northern Harford county, which is actually going down and of Holtwood Dam on the Susquehanna river, which is actually raising.

I live at the origin of the Susquahanna. Water here flows either North ,to the Mohawk/Hudson River Basin-NYC, or south to Lake Glimerglass, (Otsego Lake) in todays terms, depending on minor changes in topography. We only had wind gusts up to 47mph and only received 1.13" of rain thru the entire event. Winds at present still pushing clouds east to west. Wind speed on the ground here is 12-20mph and still fueling my wind turbine.

I"ll be crossing the Conowingo tomorrow am. When more than 15 gates are open Rte 222 is closed. I haven"t heard any bad news for Port Deposit.

Don't count on it. They were scrambling to get the new flood gates in for the past week. Where are you headed to?

Anybody remember the Missouri River flood of last year in the Dakota's, NE. and Mo.? These look like spring run off around here most springs.

ACG,

I am about 1000 ft south of the pa line and
3 miles west of the susquehanna river. Next time you through something in the river ,tell me and I'll watch for it to come by.

Hey Baltimore Bird Man!

Glad to see that you are OK.

I live about 4 miles south of the Susquehanna up here on the NY/PA border. Didn't get out to see the river yesterday. The creek down the road that feeds into the Susquehanna was up but nothing like in 2011. We truly "dodged the bullet" up here and I am grateful.

Hang in there-only about 3-1/2 months to when pitchers and catchers report!

No lie. Susquehanna only drains most of one state, not half the country like the Big Muddy. But most of what it drains is also not flat like you all in the central US have. The Susquehanna is the upper feeder into the Chesapeake depression, and can dump a spectacular amonut through in a few days, especially during the spring thaws with all the ice jams breaaking up. But it also floods several times a year, especially after heavy storms up into Pennsylvania such as Sandy and Agnes some thirty years ago.
