I hope you are all OK. I am sure you have quite a cleanup. You still need to be careful there were lots of deaths after Hugo during the cleanup. My neighbor was killed when the limb he was cutting off swung back and knocked the ladder out from under him. Lots of folks will be running chainsaws that don't know what they are doing. Yall be careful. Ron |

| we dodged a bullet on sandy. everyone was on edge, since a year ago we had our 2nd "500 year flood" in 5 years. this time, we had about .3" rain in the rain gauge, wind blew but most of the corn is still standing, and our power didn't go off. down state and Pa weren't so lucky. |

| | This thing just about completely missed hitting us here. Some rain, some high winds, but we get the winds most years in the fall, same darned kinda winds took our big hay barn in '74, lifted the roof off it and set it down elsewhere, I saw it. 2 things I stay away from in the high winds, the woods and old barns LOL! You make a good point about safety and cutting limbs, I had just been doing that ahead of this storm and the neighbor was holding the ladder, had a light one come down towards her, happens real easy. I believe we lost power briefly early this morning as sitting here my printer just re-booted, its the only circuit not on the back up solar/bartery power, just took a look she's charging at 2 amps, usually just .50 amps or less, so the winds finally got our 32 mile circuit. I am very thankful for avoiding this storm as I have become very ill with something, high fever, aches, energy gone, chills, sweats etc. been laying in bed mostly since sunday, hope to get better soon, had just gotten over a nasty cold/sinus infection, batting a 1000 here, rarely ever get sick, I guess it find us all sooner or later. This was really worse than the storm, I always walk the neighbors dog, both work long hours, I could hardly do it, but no matter what I'll always do what I say I'll do to help someone, even if it kills me LOL. I was hoping that if we got the rains it would wash all these darned ticks away, that little dog picked up 6 of them in a short 15 minute walk. |

| So far, I'm OK on the Ma & Pa border. We had the eye come right over here late last night. Very strong winds yesterday and close to 8" of rain since AM yesterday morning. There's a lot of trees down, and it's still pretty breezy, but we're just starting to get a handle on how much damage. Power outages are spotty and all over- two of the kids are out of power. They just said there are some 6 million out. The really high winds didn't quit until late yesterday evening, and it was still raining hard- guess I'll find out how we fared very shortly. At least we didn't lose power... |

| Just a thought. If you don't have power don't worry about responding. Ron |

| When you can"t get your tractor out, its kinda hard to turn them down when you can"t get into or out of your own house and there are trees laying on top of it. Snow to our north and west. Missed us so far. (West.NC) 36 degrees with wind chill in upper 20"s. Lots of wind, limbs down everywhere. BUT, keeping our fingers crossed, very little power loss. Best to all in the harder hit areas. |
