O/T Is Sandy Helping you?

Here in the flyover midwest, we don't get much for major events. Even if there is one no one cares.
If you were dry, are you getting rain? If you had an overinsured building, did it blow down? :) I am curious how the tractor folk are dealing with the storm. I am sure most probably don't have electricity except the hardcore farmers.

Been a walk in the park for us here in upstate eastern NY, a
little rain and high winds, power is still on. NYC on the other
hand is bleeped, glad I dont live down there. Ireane was
much more devastating up here by me last August.

Still raining- 6.6 inches since morning. Winds have been vicious all day, but seem to be slowing some now. Still moisture to come, and wind. The weather idiots say we may get some snow before it quits. What a storm! The dangers now are mostly from wind blown trees in soft, mushy ground. We should be geting into what's left of the eye area before too long, then the wind will shift from the south.

It has been a huge help. Now on the news all we hear is about the "stormageddon" or whatever they were calling it instead of the 2 clowns running for president. I would rather listen to storm news. :)

We had about 8" of rain (still raining a little) and marsh area was covered with water at high tide. But we were real lucky, power remained on and no trees down. But don"t expect the land to dry out until spring. Out to drain fuel from generator.

Checked the rain guages, little over 8 inches since Monday morning. Multiple limbs to pick up, all the buildings are OK.

Now I have gas for my tractor to get up the leaves.
