Stopping water condensation in fuel tank

Checked the fuel in my MF, and noticed water drops around the filler neck. I am sure if this happens all the time. I will soon have a fair amount of water in my tank. My tractors set outside, and get a tarp when the rain starts. The days have been real hot here, and the nights fairly cold around 45 degrees. Almost too cold to go outside. Give me some slack, I am a California boy here. What do you think. Stan

Keep the tank full, condensation comes from the air. Also add some dry gas occasionally, they make a type for diesel.

The secret is to kep the tank full to limit the ammount of humid air in the ullage space above the fuel. If you getting a lot of water, it should show up in the sediment bowl if you have a gas tractor with one or in the bottom of the fuel filter on a diesel.

That's what your fuel filter is for, Stan. Besides, why do you care about a little water? It ain't gonna freeze in SoCal!

"almost too cold to go outside" LOL!

Tarp might actually be making the condensation WORSE because it traps the humid air underneath. If it can't get away from the tractor, it certainly can't get out of the fuel tank.

Best thing to do is get the tractors in a building.

How long have you had these tractors? If anywhere near a year or more, and you're just noticing this NOW, then it's a non-issue. Condensation would've caused problems for you long ago.
