18 year old grandaughter at early voting location. She had a lot of adverse comments about the political ad with the sluty 26yo female with the tatoo on her right arm. She made no bones about how she voted.

Well good for her. We need all the people to be involved in the political process. I don't care which side either. That is the great thing here in this country. We complain and grip but we all are Americans. If someone is elected we don't like we don't go get guns and have a civil war. We wait an try to vote them out the next go round.

An example of this would be President external_link. I strongly disagree with his political actions but he is a good family man and is raising two wonderful daughters. I wish him well in his private life. I just do not want him as President for four more years.

We are blessed with a good form of government that may not be all we want it to be but it is way better than all the other systems out there.

My 2 college educated 20 somethings made it clear who they voted for in 2008, I just said 'well ok then'. Now they are not saying and I'm not asking. Of course one of them likes to say everything is 43's fault. My response to that is regardless of who is at fault, I would expect to see some improvement in 4 years. Can anyone show me that the hole is not considerably deeper than it was 4 years ago ?

My problem with external_link is " we inherrited the problem". Five years ago he WAS in congress and helped create it. I don't care if he voted against the programs he had to know all about what transpired. Don't blow smoke up my perdel.

He had total control with the congress ready to push through anything he said and did he do anything worthwhile with total power? NO! He squandered those years instead of doing things. Vacations, golf games, but the mouth never stops. "I'll not rest 'till all you folks have jobs." Yea. Right.

Come on guys. He's proud of his grand daughter. If you make this too political,it's gonna get poofed.
If you want to go there, start another post and don't hijack this one. Just sayin.

You have every reason to be proud, God Bless her for voting REGARDLESS of her political persuasion. Its typical for some (NOT allllllll) younger idealistic inexperienced voters to lean towards left wing ideals, but in their middle years when raising a family and in the "real" world of work and expenses and having to balance a budget and pay taxes, they tend to be more conservative HEY IM NOTTTTT SAYING THATS GOOD OR BAD OR PICKING A FIGHT JUST TALKIN REALITIES HERE.....

God Bless her for voting and God bless the USA and all here regardless of politics

Ol John T, Christian Conservative and so proud, happy and contented for it

Or as some wag once put it, "A nnalert is just a nnalert who hasn't earned any money yet."

I, too, applaud her for getting involved in the system, regardless of her persuasion. I think my kids just about balance each other out- ones a staunch conservative, ones a lib, and the third I'm not quite sure about. And they all vote!

My oldest son is a true right winger, just to the left of Genghis Kahn,,,,,Next son is a Marine, past Secret Service Agent, now Special Agent for ICE so hes on the Right, Architect daughter was member of Young College nnalert so is basically right, but listens to NPR and as an architect is into all that Al Gore Global Warming crap, so she may be headed for a fight with her old dad lol

Take care Mike

It's really very simple when it comes to who are you going to vote for. No matter if it's President, Congress, Senate, Governor, county commisioner, city council.
It all come down to this: How Much better off are you that when they took office?
Taking into consideration:
Did your taxes increase?
How about the price of food?
How about the price of fuel?
Is your cost of living within your income?

I think it obvious that we need a clean slate in Washington. Those holding office now have made things worse for the majority of Americans.

If you have a computer it's easy to look and see how candidates voted on different bills and how they did during their term. If it didn't "help" you and the majority. Send them on their way.
Sadly to say, I'm a nnalert but I certainly don't agree with most of their views, like socialism, welfare for everyone and bring people from out of the country to live on our "so called wealth".
It's not that things are going to be any better with new heads, but why not give someone new a chance?

Just my opinion..

I would agree with you other then the one term you use. I see it this way NO ONE has the right to judge a person on there looks or there beliefs and to call some one a sluty as you did your judging and that you have no right to do as per the good book

It would be a shame to poof the picture of the beautiful lady but the Anti-President comments should have been poofed because he was elected by the American people. I know of no better way to elect a president. Democracy is better than haveing a Czar to appoint a president

My Dad was born in 1911 and voted nnalert all his life. Died in 1982. Now I'm afraid he is voting nnalert in Chicago.Twice some years.

We're not a democracy. We're a representative republic. The president isn't elected by the people. He's elected by the electoral college. That's what we're voting for in November, electors who will represent us and elect a president. That's why ALL the emphasis is on 11 swing states.

Congratulations Pat.
You should be proud that she's taking her rights and responsibilities as an American citizen seriously.

Again I'll mention I was taking my basic macroeconomics class at Michigan State University during the Carter Reagan campaign. The professor made a statement, directly from the text, and was challenged by a B&B-less Coed sitting in the back of the room, the professor's reply "yes but you need to understand if James Earl Carter was currently enrolled in this class he would not be making a passing mark". Don't get me wrong Carter was smart, he graduated from the Naval Academy 59th in a class of 820 (top 10%) and was accepted into Rickover's nuclear program. It's just something about some people that they can't understand how economic works and can't comprehend supply and demand, unintended consequences and Maslow's hierarchy of needs & what motivates people. It all gets thrown out for feelings and emotions.

You got it right RR- We live in a REPUBLIC, not a democracy. Just say the pledge and it's right in there. ".... and to the REPUBLIC for which it stands...."

Either way we're voting for either a snake or a rat. Neither one has my best interests in mind.

I think you may live in both.. not much difference really.
