Contact me if you need a source for parts and I will put you in contact with a close friend of mine who has a TD18A as well as a complete TD18A power unit and some spare parts.

I do not know what his plans for them are but he has not used either for years and has recently scrapped all of his TD6 and TD9 stuff.

If you can find a running engine don,t know what it would cost to get it uip to you but you would be better off than going to work on that beast. I have built them to strict standards and 6 weeks latter they would crap then next time just patch one up and it would run forever, they are the most FINIKY engines I have ever worked on, just never can tell what you are going to get. I had much rather have one that is running and has ran for years than a new overhauled unit..

Interesting crack there. I will bet that didn't happen on a warm sunny summer day.... more like a calm clear January night that makes your lungs hurt to inhale....oooooh.....
A post child for good antifreeze.

Had an old WC that had a hairline like that. I grooved it out with a die grinder, cleaned it up for aninch or so around it and filled it with JB Weld. Never had any more trouble with it. There's really no pressure on it, and as long as the JB has time to cure right, it's pretty strong. Might try that first.

Lyle,

As welding man says , that is a good one to
stitch and not weld. Having used both the iron-
tite plugs and the newer lock-n-stitch plugs,
that looks like one to use the lock n stitch
plugs on as they don't wedge the crack apart.

(quoted from post at 15:49:52 10/27/12) do you need that much engine to run the mill ????
ot really but the tractor was dropped off in my yard for free, I couldnt refuse it at that price. If I can make it work, it will probably run the mill for years with very little problems. Im hopin anyways..lol
