The Weather watchers are Hiping this storm as "The Perfect Storm II. My Case friends posted pics yesterday out in MN. of all the snow they got. That Canadian snow storms they got, and Huricain Sandy are supose to colide over the whole NE. The Big Boxes have sold out of Gens., Flashlights, Bats, etc. I did go out to the garage and test fired my Yanmar Diesel Gen Set. Bat. was dead so I charged it, and it started on first rev. Wow, it haden't been run for 2 yrs. 35 miles south east of me, people are moving their belongings to higher ground, because they lost everything a little over a year ago to Storms,Irene and Lee. The Gilboa Dam is being lowered in an unpresidented move and the Erie Canal system is being lowered in areas where flooding has regullarly occured. Maybe over reaction, but power crews have be put on aleart from neighoring states west of us, and everyone is preparing for what (will or Will not) happen on Mon. and Tue. here in the North East. I'm ready, how about the rest of you in the NE? Loren, The Acg. |

| Those small Yanmar Diesel engines are great. I bought a lot of them for ADOT for various applications. We used the small air cooled Diesel engines to drive alternators to supply current to arrowboards and message boards. Very quiet and vibration free. Larger liquid cooled engines were used on units to light work sites. |

| Well, Loren, as you said, may be over reacting, but as they say, better to err on the safe side. If they said it was not going to be very bad and missed it, well, you know how it goes. I do hope for the sake of all concerned that it does not turn out to be as bad as they anticipate. I live in central North Carolina, and although our coast suffers quite a bit from hurricanes, the only thing we generally get is a lot of rain. Occasionally one will decide to take the "scenic route" and turn inland. I lost about half of my roof a little over twenty years ago when one blew through. Homeowners took care of it. We will be watching for your reports. Lowell |
