About ten days ago, I got a new "Gateway" "all in one" computer with Windows 7.

After being on XP since it came out, I'm now getting used to 7, but I have a coupla questions I can't find answers for in the owner's manual.

How do you get rid of those danged ads that pop up whenever you click on a link?

Also, I know how to change the size of the type with the "Ctrl" key and mouse wheel, but is there any way to make the type a bit more bold?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Pretty sure you hit START, then in the search box type in INTERNET EXPLORER, click on DELETE BROWSING HISTORY and the option box should come up. Hit the PRIVACY tab and make sure the "Turn on pop-up blocker" in checked. Then hit the OK box.
Better yet, just download Firefox and use it instead.

I also prefer Firefox, but you may have to turn on the popup blocker with it as well. Unfortunately a lot of legit sites use pop up windows now, so some stuff you may want to work, won't work with them blocked. PIA...

You could try holding the left Alt and left Shift keys and pressing the
Print Screen key to turn on the high contrast mode.
Some people like it, some people do not.
You can turn it back off by pressing Alt+Shift+PrntSc again.

Other options are available by holding the Windows key to the
left of the space bar and pressing the "U" key.
This will bring up the "Ease of Access Center".

Good luck!
