Most of you have probably seen this but there is a lot of truth in it. We have people around here that moved from the city complaining about chicken houses. Chicken houses been here as long as I can remember. DH

Hmmm,

If you replaced the word "animals" with "rednecks" on that sign, it would describe some of my more rural neighbors!

In Ontario, there is what is basically a 'right to farm act'. 'Normal' farm practices are allowed regardless of anyone complaining. I can't say that I hear of too many complaints, cause if there were any, it'd be national news,(I'm serious) provided there wasn't a US election coming up

In the county I live in, you can't build a home in the country without first signing a Right to Farm Agreement. It more or less says that you are going to build in a rural area with farm activity, noise and smells and you will accept this activity as a condition for the right to build there. This form is registered with the register of deeds and stays with your deed so the next owner has to go by it also.

A property developer built a big posh housing estate beside my mate's pig farm, then filled it with urbanites...once the wind changed direction they started to moan...but he told them the pigs were there first...after a couple of years the pressure was put on big time and he had to sell up, but he got the last laugh. He sold to the same property developer for £1.2million (only 2 acres including the pig houses for about 200 sows!) ....They had the first house nearly built when the property bubble burst....Still sitting that way and the developer is looking for a job to try to keep his own house!

"WHEN IN ROME, DO AS THE ROMANS DO!" Tell that to all those city slickers trying to move in and take over.
