ih 574 hydro diesel

iam going to go look at this tractor this afternoon can anyone tell me anything about it.

Not being a big IH man, I don't think they made the 574 in a hydro. There was a Hydro 84 and 86, a 656 Hydro and a Hydro 100. I could be wrong, but the 574 and 674's were gear drives....

Don't recall that 574 came in a hydro version, but may be wrong.

I had the gear operated variety, and liked it. The shift mechanism was a little cumbersome, but if its a hydro, that won't be a problem.

It had a good draft-sensing 3 point hitch, and independent PTO. Started fine, pretty nimble (utility-style tractor). It did everything I asked of it.

look the paint over carefully, someone may have stuck 574 decals and paint on a hydro 84

Here's a 574.

If someone is trying to rebadge a Hydro 86 as a 574, buy it and run like a thief. Hydro 86 is much more tractor than the 574.

I have had a 574 with a loader for 10 years. Outside of replacing the clutch its been trouble free.

very unlikley someone would mistkae a hydro 86 for a 574. if it is a switch (intentional or not), it's likley a hydro 84

My mistake- I meant to type hydro 84. They're still enough different that it would be tough to mis-identify them.

We had 574 Hydros in Britain, they looked just like the 475 that had the Perkins 212 engine.
