Corn planter to use for planting pumpkins

I was wondering if anyone here has used a John Deere 1240 plateless planter to plant pumpkins? I have seen 7000 series planters modified to plant pumpkins by removing every other finger on the pick up, but didn"t know if that was possible on the 1240. Any insight on this would be helpful as I am looking for a planter to plant corn and pumpkins. I am considering a 1240 that I have found locally.

My buddy and I have an IH 400 Cyclo planter 4 row can be upgraded to 6 row. Since it used spinning drums to separate and plant the seeds it can used to plant just about anything just get the right drum for the seed we have the corn and another nou to sure what it is.
It's needs new hoses and a little tender care to get it in top condition. If you are interested let me know and I will talk to Victor.
We are in north western Oregon.

1240 will work fine. I have used a 494A for many many years to plant pumpkins and watermelons.
