We loaded the whole camera card in to the computer the other day. Came across some pictures from last years northern Michigan color tour.

No,it's that county park over the Mannistee near Fife Lake. I think they call it the Eagles Nest or something like that. The actual park is out closer to the road and Eagles Nest isn't the name of it,but you drive a two track up higher to where we took the pictures. Dad,my uncle and two other guys used to hunt up there before they turned that area in to a park.

Those two farm pictures are on Lund road between Taffle Town and Fife Lake.

The farm picture is on the corner of Lund road and Puffer Road. On the end of the barn in the top door for hay there is a hay elevator that has been there for so long it is rusted in to and just hanging there

I remember back when those farms along there were operating. Had Olivers around as I recall. Figured they came from the dealer in Falmouth.

You probably know the name of that park then don't you? It's just west of those farms on the south side of the road.

The parks name is Springfield park. The farm owner just passed away this summer and someone planted corn in the fields this year. They had 2 Case tractors with the one being freshly painted. Usually you see alot of deer in that area but they are kinda slim picking this year. My son live on Puffer road to the south at the end of the road next to the river. He catchs alot of fish in that area of the river

I was down your way last Thursday and back up through on Sunday. You're color was pretty well past peak wasn't it?

Beautiful area. The park is called Springfield Township Park. We have a small tractor show there usually last weekend of August.Within walking distance of my cave. Thanks for the pictures.

Man, I remember going to the bar in Taffle Town about 30 years ago with some friends from Cadillac. What a night! Somehow we all survived.

I have been there a few times, just not in the fall. With Lund Rd. being in that area, are you or your family originally from around there?

No. There must have been another bunch of'em. My Great Grandparents came over from Sweden in 1881 and settled 2 miles from where I live now. Grandpa moved to this place in 1927.

OK. I was wondering when you knew the location that well and with the same name. I am west of there about 30 miles.

Dad,my uncle and two guys from here in town had a cabin near the Boardman river. We used to go up 66 and across Lund road to get there. That's how I'm so familiar with the area.

As families all got bigger, scheduling anybody going there was a nightmare,so one of the guys bought everybody else out. Dad bought another cabin of his own over northeast of Sharon.
