The Kubota / Deere / LS / Mahindra / Kioti / Branson type compact utilities all have very similar performance and features, but all have distinct feels. Made in India. I don't recall what the small NH's are, but they're made in Mexico aren't they? I like my '66 Ford 5000, but I like my 2005 Kubota MX5000 almost as well... pete black 10-22-2012 13:33:37 166.147.120.25 Report to Moderator	Re: Modern Tractor Question - Kubota in reply to Patsdeere, 10-21-2012 22:58:21   many have spoke highly concerning the kubota in the mid 30's hp range and i agree with them. now, here's my take on some other things. my first was a new 04 L3130, 4 wheel drive, hst. my son currently has it and has been problem free except for the operator presence relay which i replaced myself. i currently have an 08 L3240, 4 wheel drive, hst with loader and it too is a great tractor. one dislike i have is the leveling device on the lift arm. made strong but engineered cheaply in that it is very difficult to adjust. now for the good. many opinions have been stated concerning old iron versus new iron. new iron offers for me, an aging adult with the various ailments and complications, the chance to continue using my tractor, never fails to start, the open station allows easy on/off, hst offers smooth operation while being easy on the legs and back, comfortable seating with tilt steering wheel allows me to stay on for an extended time. it is also equipped with many safety devices that helps to prevent this aging man getting into trouble. noise level and vibration is minimal. factory loader was and is a must and the controls are readily accessible. the loader offers so much flexibility and enables me to continue to accomplish a lot of work around the place, besides, it just plain fun to use. mine is equipped with r4 tires, good traction with minimal damage to lawn when mowing. i do not have loaded rear tires so some times i lose traction to the rear tires, thats why 4 wheel drive is great. a word of caution, descend a hill in 4 wheel drive only, or you may find yourself in for quite a ride due to that loss of traction. i am sure that other brands of tractors offers comparable options, convenience and durability. Plowing disking type or commercial like using the loader and doing work around the house. Kubota makes the short frame and the long frame tractors, the long frame is much better for farm worm the short one is better for commercial work. Then decide whether you want four or two wheel drive. It's all up to what you are going to use the tractor for. Wrong tractor and you will cuss the brand right one an you will love it. Still have it, but since bought a skid steer for loader work. As mentioned, avoid models with 1/4-inching 3-point hitch. They're always either too low or too high. Decent little tractor, kinda awkward for big guys relative to some other brands. (I'm 6'-4" and 265) Can't state for sure how all brands are in that regard, just that I prefer Deere and Massey Ferguson over the Kubota for comfort. Parts aren't cheap but decent availability. (No match for Deere on quick parts turn-around, but no one is...) If you use a Kubota hard, they don't hold up any better than average, but no worse either. I wouldn't steer you away from one, but there are others just as good. Check other brands and compare features, also consider dealer in your locale. [Reply]  [No Email]

It is about 21 hp. I love that little thing. I have never had to turn a wrench on it other than regular maintenance. It still has the original battery after 11 years. A loader on that size tractor is a must. He will use it more than he ever thought he would. You can buy the woods brand loader that is exactly the same as the kubota brand also. It is a little cheaper. Do not buy the small ones before 2000 or 2001 (can't remember). I know 2001 was the first year they had power steering on the B7500. I have a 1993 Kubota B1750HST that I bought new. After 19 years, I have done absolutely nothing to it aside from oil and filter changes and other routine maintenance, e.g., coolant, lubrication, etc. No problems of any kind, not even a fan belt, fuse or tire. His choice of model and features must depend upon intended usage and we have insufficient information to provide much useful advice without knowing. Visit tractorbynet with caution. Most of the tractdors in that range sold are as someone noted 4 wheel drive with a loader. Now with that in mind realize that KUBOTA has manafactured price models to compete with the cheaper tractors. You can buy a tractor pure gear drive and cheaper seat ect. See a few construction folks with some type, usually 4wd and a loader... See a lot of ISEKI's and Mitsubishi's being used by cities/counties for just about everything and they seem real tuff. Japanese also but cost quite a bit less. Was at a horse stall that had 3 Kioti's guessing about 40 HP 4wd, loaders, cabs, and some goodies.... All the same age maybe 3 years old and you couldn't have combined the functioning features of all 3 and matched what they were sold to do..... [Reply]  [No Email]

Great tractor, I have the HST transmission. A lot easier on my leg!! Makes a great loader tractor. Kubota is selling it's own paint, IE, it makes tractors, they aren't contracted out or relabeled. I looked for a used one for years, finally gave up, and bought new, as the used values were within a couple thousand of new. Very happy, no problems at all, just got 100 hours on mine.
