Had dad dig out the original purchase order for his 520 jd. No serial number listed on the order. So, barring a miracle, i think it has been lost to time. But if anyone bought a 520 deere in the early to mid 80s in New Vienna, Iowa with plans to restore it, maybe you have his tractor. Thats all I have to go on for now..

Where did he buy it??? You may be able to find out something from them. A lot of old dealers wrote the serial numbers in the front of their paper parts books. I know both of the older dealers I worked at did. Also have him check to see if he has any old insurance papers they may have asked for the serial number. If he took a check for payment than you might get a name/town from the deposit slip.

Dealership was in guttenburg ia..closed maybe early 70s..Im hoping I can get the # from where he traded it, but that business has changed hands too and its a long shot.
