Not only do the vidio games make a differance to their World but so does stuff on the tube. We have a family member in the lodgeing business for hunting and fishing in their area.Everything From Elk to Brook trout. The age of people involved gets older each year and they see very few people under 30yrs old ,most are 40,50,60+. The reason for not seeing younger people hunting is maybe they want it to be like ya see on TV. On TV hunting they see "Hunters" bait deer, bears ect all year in plots with grain salt lick and sweets, then sit in a hut with $2000 of eguipment from Bass Pro or Cabelas and gallery shoot it at 20yrds or less. They think fishing is $50K for a Bass boat with a 200hp motor go from spot to spot as fast as they can and YANK a 7in Bass into a boat. They want instant gratification. That is not hunting or fishing. Hunting and fishing is about getting out and not getting a shot all day for two days maybe more. Most cannot see that is what hunting is. Fishing is hitting spot after spot with every lure or crankbait in ones arsenal with no more then an occational half hearted strike. What makes all of this so much fun is when you have a hunt or fishing trip with lots of shooting and a good bag number.Fishing is strike after strike with a barbless lure and release of all but two fish which ya roast over a open fire with cornbread, coffee or your favorite adult beverage .If we had no bad days we would not know when we have a good one. When it comes to working on these old tractors and bringing them back to life, well, NASCAR you start every race with a brand new shinny car and a whole bunch of guys to do the fixen for ya.I could be wrong on all this but,I think maybe thats why some cant sweep. PS I also think theres lots of good kids out there like some have posted. Im goin back to the shop and work on tractors,Later. |
