I purchased a used JD 275 with a tiller. It didn't have a front bumper. Could only find one on ebay, $100 +$20 shipping. Need bumper so when I transport it in turck I don't break the plastic hood when tractor moves forward when stopping. JD thinks a lot of the plastic hood, around $400+.

So I made a bumper from a spring off an old mobile home and scrap flat iron.

That will help hold the front end down pretty well, and keep those grandkids from doing so many wheelies.

My son had his quad in my pickup 3 winters ago and didn't have it strapped down. Also one of my other kids was in pretending to ride it and took off the parking brake.

Well, we had a storm and there was about a 3' drift right outside the shop that he needed to power through. He puts it in reverse, stands on it in the shop and the ATV rolls ahead and the bumper blows out the rear window.

Pulls the pickup back in the shop and gets out. Not driving that truck tonight!

Dark tinted glass isn't cheap either.

Erran,
Of you notice the truck in the background, it has a tool box across the front. When I load my mowers, I put the bumper against the tool box and close the tail gate. Not much room to move or bounce around. One mower, I have to strap in, because the back wheels won't clear the side boxes.

No way my bumper will take out my back window.

Keep in mind, all the green on the GT275 is, expensive to replace, plastic. I'm simply trying to protect my investment.

I was looking to put a tiller on a farm tractor. Couldn't find a tractor that was powerful enough and would go slow enough without putting out about 10 times what I spent on this toy.

This toy works better than expected. I love it and have no plans to ever sell.

My grandkids are city kids. They have fun when they come to the country and get to ride my tractors. They also looking forward to sled rides when it snow. Now I have a Deere to put in front of the sled, instead of a Ford or Farmall. May need to get a red outfit and a gray beard when I'm pulling them. Ho, Ho.

Don, You gave me an idea. It's a John Deere, why not put Deer Horns on it? Perhaps others should summit their ideas and I'll pick one.

You need a half of a rack, off'n a 6 point buck. That way you can say that your deere has a 3 point, on the front, when you sell it!

One day at the hardware store I saw a trailer with an ATV in it that was slamming back and forth every time the towing vehicle sped up and slowed down. Luckily the trailer had mesh sides 3 feet high so it couldn't come out. I did wonder what was the problem with the driver.

Just wondering but have you ever heard of using a strap to secure your load?

Erran,
When I transported tractor to my shop, I had to use 3 straps. 2 to keep it from rolling backwards and 1 from having it roll forward. I like to save time. All my mowers have bumpers, so why not have one on the tractor that has the most expensive hood? It didn't take much to build this one. BTW, Grandkids like to run into things.

I really like the bumper that came on my Jubilee.
