In the last 6 mo.my truck has failed to start several times.Motor turns over but no fire,Yesterday I started it up,drove it 50 yards cut it off to lock the gate and would not restart,called the tow co.tried to start it several times with no luck,checked at the plugs and no fire.Towed it 2 miles to the garge and the truck started,what do you think

Same thing on my 2007 Chev2500hd. Finally found a rubbed raw wire under the tilt steering wheel.A lot of frustration until found.
 
lots of possibilities but one thing to check would be the crankshaft position sensor. Should be right by the crank pulley, sometimes just unplugging it and plugging it back in makes it start, usually a sign of corrosion. Good luck, hope you find the culprit.If the computer does not see rpm, it will not trigger the coils or injectors.
