hunter orange and strobe lights (foggy times )??

Hey folks, couple ???'s.... Hunter orange isn't real common here and wasn't real common when I left the States..... How is it on those smokey mornings? Understand it won't be visible in thick fog, but on those mornings that things just don't have any real edges/outlines..... What is a good, reasonable priced, tuff jacket that can be used as an outer shell?

Also, I remember our school buses always had a strobe light on top that really cut thru the fog. If I remember right, they were only a couple inches diameter and height... Can someone point me in the right direction for an orange one?

Gonna be pretty foggy from now til spring around here and I spend a lot of time on the road with the tractor.

Thanks, Dave

Dave the lights are available from many stores, Northern Tool, NAPA and others that can be ordered on line.

Blaze orange stuff can be expensive. For working most are not going to stand up well. Check Cheaper Than DDirt, Cabella's, Gander Mountain, Mill's Fleet Farm ECt.

A white strobe will be seen better, if the law will allow it. Hunter orange is the most visable color on our farm, hunter vests & hat and SMV signs. Try Dicks, Cobelas, Bass pro shops etc. I think a vest would be better, you seem like a guy that would get a jacket pretty dirty.

Might want to check with the German ministry of motor vehicles, or whatever they call it. They may have very strict regulations on what kinds of lights you can, or must, use on your tractor.

Illegal lighting combined with your people skills could very well cause you to find yourself suddenly face-down on the road with a German police officer's boot on your neck.

Anyone with any brains who has lived in Germany as long as Dave has knows not to back talk the cops there.........even he knows better than that!

I'd go with a good old Carhart and a thin safety vest with the reflective tape. In fog the tape will be the first thing any other vehicle will see. I'd also go white with the light if they allow it. If you type "school bus strobe" on the world wide web you'll get hits for 12V units. Looks like and AREO 166-1 assembly is what you're after.

You got that chit right!!!!!!!!! They don't have play nice rules over there that our officers have to put up with here. Video cameras in the cars there are to prove your beligerance, not protect you from police brutality.

When they open the trunk on the cruiser out pops an HK MP5 submachine gun. Not a lousy shotgun. If the billy club is in the hand it's not for intimadation. It's because he's getting ready to use it on somebody. The intimadation happens when you see the blue light in the rearveiw mirror. The correct response when asked a question is yes sir, no sir, three bags full. Or please, please, please let me know when it is ok to come down.

Lived in Germany for 6 years. Two in the Military and 4 on the economy like Dave.

Look into the chartreuse reflective vests the road construction guys wear. Campbell's supply here in Mitchell had a big selection,. You need the reflectivi stuff.

Go to breakfast. If you're worried about being seen then you can't see the game either. Are you one of those hunters that get off a few 'sound shots'?

Not at all.... Not a hunter, just want to be visible.... Could be that I'd participate in a drive hunt if hogs get any worse in this area and visibility would be a plus  Horses all get reflective belts around their necks when a drive is going on also....
