kubota turf tires

my dad is looking for a set of turf tires/wheels for an older kubota 175. he found a set locally but has JD wheels on it and the bolt pattern is different and cant find any local with that bolt pattern, called dealer and was told they dont make parts for that old of a model anymore. He has 8.3/24 ag tires on it now and was hoping to go to turf for a smoother ride. any comments on what he is to do? thanks to all you good people.
 
We use turf tires on one of our tractors at the golf course where we want to protect the grass & turf. It has about 50% less pulling traction than does the other one with regular ag tires but does not tear up grass. It will burn the grass spinning though but they do ride somewhat smoother. Running tires with the chevron tread reversed rides somewhat smoother also.
 
Loren, i am not well versed on sizes, How do they compare to the 24" tires height wise or is that just the rims? Wondering what the cost of the rims if i find some should be, shipping? thanks, Mike.
 
we found some new 6 hole rims at the salvage yard but found out the bolt pattern was metric and the old ones appears to be standard.

PS I have a B2150 and might be interested in your 8.3x24s for winter use, as my chains for my turfs strike the fenders when rolling on the road.
 
If you are unable to locate the correct wheel,here is what I would do.First,dismount the tire from the rim.Then cut the center out of the wheel with the right bolt pattern.Then weld that center into the other wheel.BTDT several times.Do NOT weld on a rim with the tire still mounted!!!The EXPLOSIVE results would prove deadly!
 
Why not just get a set of 8.3 X 24 turf tires? Or try the tractor junkyards near you. I know of one near Gettysburg, and another in Shippensburg, Pa, that might have them.
