How's the fall color down there? Should I head down the weekend of the 20-21 or 27-28?
I looked at a map on the Weather Channel webpage, looks like Fentress County, around Dale Hollow is only at about 10-20% as of Oct 10th,but over around Cherokee Lake they claim is near peak right now.
I don't want to waste a trip down there if I can't catch something somewhere about peak. I'd like to rent a cabin on one of the lakes for a few days, just need to know which lake.

Around Bristol is getting pretty close to peak I havent been down any further south than Kingsport lately so I can't comment on Douglas or Cherokee. This is just a guess but I'd probably come down next weekend. My wife and I went horseback riding on Patrick Henry last weekend there was quite a bit of color on the trees around the lake.

R , Came all the way from Virgina this week and I think you are going to be late. looks to me like if you are saying PEAK the peak may actually be here right now. I answred someone on here about 6 weeks ago about thsi question and at that time I told them I felt it might be early this year and I believe I was right. If it were me I would come on as soon as I could. Just my observations and I have lived in Tenn for 70 years.

right in the heart of east tn, it is really nice right now , plenty of things to do but no frost in the lower regions and very little in the upper, those of us still farming are harvesting, as for color the trees they are a changin'. If you come down 11-e wave as you pass but don't look at the (weeds).
