Anything selling these days?

Just thought I would throw a feeler out there to see if anyone is selling anything these days. I am not selling much, but maybe it is just my area?

I have not tried to sell much lately.

I would think good buys would be easy to find, but everything I see advertised is awfully high priced !

Been doing a bunch of buying lately. Had to purchase a tire and exhaust/intake manifold for my combine yesterday. Think I got off pretty inexpensive. 23.1x26 tire in good shape 100.00, 108.10 to get the tire switched over to non-hillside rim, manifold for 262 gas 80.00.

Worked a farm related consigment sale Sat. [Georgia]
I figured my sales were off 25% ?? no sold more than I have ever at that sale.
It was a BUYERS sale. A lot of stuff if they wanted it did good, but if little/no intrest, you had to work, and then might not get a decent bid.
Going to buy & sell @ one tommorow, auctioneer is worried as there are several more close.
Whatever is whatever, some people think the election might be the problem ????

Steve, what is hay bring in your area?

None left available here most sold for 200 in 3x4, 20 less for rounds and 20 to 30 more for little squares.
There is portion of producer to user long term contracts in the 100 range all were honored.

My opinion, auctions will continue to go down hill until they decide to let the seller pay the for selling there stuff instead of charging the buyer a premium. What might be a good deal ain't after you add 10%.I usual don' go when there is a buyers premium.

I don't see much of anything moving here in the northeast except absolute nesessaties and absolute giveaways. I'm expecting things might perk up after November 6th, but only if there is a change in administration. Who can afford to pay twice the price they paid 4 years ago for anything?

I was at a huge Ford dealer doing a repair yesterday, and as I always do when I leave jobs, asked how business was to keep tabs on the economy as usual. Some joked, but the senior sales guy said that it was slower than he would like, better than it has been, but added that sales typically slump during the holidays. I'm not a sales guy, but would figure that sales would be up during the holidays when people are most likely to be in a buying mood if there ever was one.

I noticed this on their lot. Two very nice brand spanking new F350 crew cabs, 8' beds, Powerstroke diesels, 4x4, nice paint jobs, and although I didn't sort through the list of options...$57,000 each. I remember when Corvettes were going for $60,000, which makes me wonder what they must be going for now. A real nice pair of heavy duty trucks...$57,000 each. Good golly Ms. Mollie. Don't get me wrong, as an old Dodge truck guy, I want to see Ford do well, very well since they didn't take a government bailout, and if I have to buy a new pickup, will be a Ford or foreign and will not consider another new Dodge or Chevy, but...$57,000!!! HOLY SMOKES!!! Am I ever out of touch.

Know it"s not farm products, persae, but wife has been trying to sell things at craft shows... Said one was extremely slow today - lots of lookers, not much cash changed hands. Has been to fiber fests, not selling much wool products, either..... Think it has a lot to do with the economy and people are reluctant to buy the extras that they used to.

Insurance , gas , food , drugs (both kinds) everything else ya pretty much gotta give it away. If Barry is elected it won't matter , we can all live off the Govment.

Price the Dodge's Mark. About the same around here.
More than double my first house! (it was on a city lot, but still)

Two stores in Tenn and tractor sales were better for the month of September than they have been in the last four years. Lots of folks have just waited so long they finally decided to pull the triger. At least that is might take on things.

Oh, I don't doubt you. I am clearly out of touch. My newest truck, '02 Dodge 3/4 ton, 4x4, extended cab, 8' bed, Cummins, auto, pretty much loaded...$27,000 then, and talk about sticker shock. For better or worse, I am clearly out of touch. I should have been born wealthy, good looking, and had dozens of girfriends, but I missed the boat on all of it.

I'm thinking if you had the last option, you would no longer have the first option, and the second option only lasts for so long!
Better off with a good truck!

dej(jed),
Not sure what you are asking "anything selling these days?" I made about $1600 this past summer by taking pics of the stuff I had and didn't want, then posting them on craigslist.

I called it my yard sale on line. Happy to clean out my garages and get rid of junk that I haven't used in 20 years.

Don't miss a thing. Love the room I made too.

This is what I spent the money on. JD GT275, tiller and 48 inch mower, $1600.

We just recently looked at some new 2012 Silverados. The rebates, discounts, and other incentives totalled up to over $5,000, which sounds impressive, but I can remember when a guy could buy a brand new 1/2 ton for LESS than $5,000.
