JMS/.MN 10-11-2012 19:23:50 98.127.169.11 Report to Moderator	Driving through Saguache area today........fair amount of irrigated hay ground. Looked like alfalfa, maybe some mix. No other crops in the area. (Maybe saw some tilled grain stubble?) If it is alfalfa, how do they get around the autotoxicity of alfalfa? Some was worked and just seeded. Also, some irrigation ditches had rock bottoms. Many pivot corners had piles of small rock. Are they stored there til used? Ground looked very alkaline. Many shallow water areas near irrigation pumps. [Reply]   [No Email]

Kinda new to the area, but there are a lot of Hay fields there, but also potatoes to the South. Most farmers down there have rock pickers. There are places that have piles and piles of rocks. Not sure what they do with them. The water table is very high, and lots of alkaline. I THINK they put on a lot of lime on. You should have stopped for a free lunch. Wouldn't it be neat if someone came up with a directory of all us tractor nuts. [Reply]  [No Email]
