Fence coatings

I would think you would have problems with it peeling off. Fence boards need to breath and swell during high humidity.
 
I used it on a board fence many years ago. It was a water base sealer. I cut it a little with some water to make it thinner to paint better. I just rolled it on. It held up better than black paint.
 
I treated some wooden 4X4 posts for fence poles with asphalt emulsion, the stuff you paint on concrete basement walls before backfilling. It's been 17 years and half of them are still in the ground.
