Home Made Apple Cider!!!!! (pics)

Today we made over 15 gallons of fresh apple cider. We had to buy the apples as our trees didn't produce a single apple. A little over 8 bushel. Got them from an orchard near Bedford, PA. Took em home and juiced em up. Also have 18ish quarts of apple butter cooking. Here are a few pics.

Looks like fun; bet its tasty! There's a few local orchards around here that still make the stuff, and it is better than anything I have ever bought in a store or a restaurant. Can't beat it! :D

Made our cider about 4 weeks ago, apple butter 6 weeks ago. All apples from my trees. Apples were small, but plentyful.Letting a gallon of cider turn to vinegar

Press some pears. They are good. People in your area should have apple and pear trees that don't use the crop. Most are happy to get them picked up. Happy pressing.

'Couple questions: Does the motor turn the screw? Do you have to finish the pressing with the manual handle? If the bucket is lined with plastic, how does the juice get out? Do you cut the apples before pressing? 'Never done that before.

Motor turns the grinder. It's wooden wheel with metal spikes that grind and crush the apples. They fall into the basket. The lining is similar to cheese cloth but finer. That let's us not have to strain the juice once it's out.

Is that the same girl that was sitting on your Farmall or a different one????????

Enjoy your pics.

I would love to find an apple cider press like that one! Never wanted to spend the money but I know I'll have to if I want one. Great Picture by the way! Keep up the good work.

How about showing me a few pictures of your grinder and how you have it set up. Tub and press would be easy to make but I need a way to make a good grinder. Could sell them if I could find a way to make a grinder reasonable or even a place to buy reasonable.

Ours is a wooden wheel with flat small pieces of metal sticking out. I'm back at school. I'll grab some pics the next time I'm home and show everyone.

Both very attractive young ladies. YOu are a lucky guy--beautiful tractors and a beautiful gal friend.

Looks like apple juice. Apple cider is the stuff that zip that often makes one's coordination and judgement shaky.
